The department for temporary power in Oslo in providing power solutions for Sørenga Utvikling. The old harbor area in downtown Oslo is a new neighborhood with 850 apartments and about 2500 residents and is among the most talked about construction projects in Norway in recent years.

- The temporary power solutions from Infratek are the nerves and blood vessels in this development project. Infratek provides solutions for three construction stages of the project, which covers a total of five construction sites, says development manager Peter Odlang in Sørenga Development, who is very pleased with the delivery from Infratek.

- The temporary power department has gained an excellent reputation with us, and we have a good relationship with the project manager at Infratek, Odlang says.

Oslo's new district
The Sørenga development project is part of the renewal in Bjørvika, where the Opera House and the BarCode buildings are located. Infratek set up a 1000 kVA station and more cabinets around the Sørenga pier.

- It takes a lot of planning to provide power to such a complex project like this, and we have encountered some challenges along the way. Among other things, a caterpillar cut a power line, and we had some challenges with connecting to the mains. But it was resolved and Infratek got the job done, Odlang says.

About Sørenga Utvikling
Sørenga Development KS builds about 800 homes at the Sørenga pier in Oslo. The company is owned by the housing association Usbl, Backe Group, Oslo Areal, Urbanium and some investors. The development emphasizes architecture, environmental and structural engineering quality. Four different architectural offices have participated in the development of the project. In addition to approx. 72,500 sqm residential, the area will have approx. 500 sqm commercial space, 600 underground parking spaces, and two kindergartens. The entire area will be completed during 2016.

Together with his colleagues Peter Haugland, Hågen Jellum and Arnfinn Bredesen he is bulding lines to give Sørum municipality a better power supply with the 22 kV distribution grid lines.
